Eastlake Collection 1

Often considered to be late Victorian, the Eastlake Style or Cottage Furniture emphasized geometric ornaments,  spindles, low relief carvings and incised lines and ranged from simple designs to the artistically complex.   The movements was started by architect and write Charles Eastlake (1836 - 1906).  His book Hints on Household Taste in Furniture, Upholstery and Other Details provided inspiration for a generation of furniture designers and builders and emphasized the importance of quality and should be made by workers who took price in their work.   Our Eastlake Collection 1 is a cast brass collection that mirrors the quality construction of Eastlake furnishings.
